Caring for your vintage rug

Vacuuming – please vacuum your rug frequently to maintain it.  Do no use a vacuum cleaner that has a beater bar or a rotating brush on it.  This will cause fuzzing, fraying and it may tear or shred the rug.  Your rug should be cleaned with suction only but be gentle when vacuuming, slow and steady but do it thoroughly as to remove as much deep debris as possible and help maintain the appearance of the rug.   Please remember that most Sunday and Story rugs are vintage pieces,  please handle them with care.

Spot cleaning tips – Clean up spills as soon as they happen.  Pour a little baking soda on the spot to try and soak up the moisture on the carpet.  Wait about 20 seconds and then vacuum.  Repeat the process until the baking soda stops absorbing liquid.  Air the rug as much as possible after the spill, so both sides are airing equally.   A little sunlight is good for the vintage ones after any spillages.

Be very careful using water on the rug, too much water without proper ventilation after could lead to mildew.

These rugs were made to a super high standard a long time ago.  They are hard wearing but they do need to be maintained carefully.
