Dark Floral Interiors
Floral patterns are back and we’re inviting them into our home through wallpaper, textiles, artwork and accessories. From traditional William Morris patterns to modern Bluebell Grey abstract prints, the high street is mimicking the designer trend to embrace florals. But it’s not all pretty pink roses and daisy chains, following a trend to embrace the dark side of decor, we’ve seen a dark side of floral arising too, and we’re calling it Floral Noir.
Dark floral interiors are delicate and attractive whilst also being moody and atmospheric, it’s a great way to inject some floral without it making the room feel too girly or chintzy.
Pink but not too pink
If you’re looking to add some pink to your home, floral noir is a great was to do it without the pink becoming too prominent. This beautiful kitchen’s feature wall instantly sets the tone. The floral pinks warm the dark contrasting background and lessen the monotone feel in the room.
It works in any room too! Check out this gorgeous nursery featured on thevintagerugshop.com. Black isn’t the first colour that you might think of for a little girl’s nursery, but it feels completely right! The accessories and details tie it all together, including the lovely vintage rug which I’m sure they had no trouble sourcing!
It works with a rustic feel too, if you pick the right patterns or print the effect can be fabulous! I love this dining area with warming red tones on a rich black background.
Gold naturally work really well with this style; these gold legged chairs below really shine against the dark background.
